May 2008 Archives
My family gets here today! I have a ton of stuff to do before they get here, but I am having a hard time concentrating on the tasks at hand. It is going to be so great... a week at the beach with some of my favorite people in the world. The only thing that would have made it better is if Ben would have been able to come. But he is too busy hanging out (literally, since a-school hasn't started yet, he isn't doing much) on the other coast... we will miss you, Ben!
Never mind that I am sick... again! Ugh! This is the third time that I have been sick in the last month. I think that it is the same cold coming back everytime I get stressed and don't sleep well. So far, Halleigh seems to have dodged it, but only time will tell.
Anyway... back to cleaning the bathroom and the other 15 items on my to-do list.
On this memorial day, I would like to thank all of our military personel, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force. We support you, we love, you and we are praying for you daily.
Ben (Navy), John (Marines), Wes (Army), Kristen (Navy), Andy (Army), Dan (Army), Mike (Army), Scott (Army), Suzie (Army), THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart!
Also on this memorial day I would like to thank my grandpa's, Becky, Jasper, Ted, and Larry for serving our country's military in the past. Happy Memorial Day, Ya'll!
Here are the long awaited pictures from the Obama rally that Miles and I went to. We went with some of our friends from small group, and some of their friends. Oh, and thanks to Chick-fil-a there were a few presidents that stopped by to endorse Obama: Johnson, Kennedy, Truman, Roosevelt, and Wilson. Thanks guys, glad you could make it. Especially Kennedy, who wanted his own picture with the "Change" sign. Needless to say, we got a little bored waiting. But the wait was totally worth it, we were glad we went!
Here is my favorite picture taken of Ben during our trip to see him at basic training graduation. This is at Navy Pier in Chicago, and this is an anchor from the USS Chicago.

I had a great Mother's Day, beginning with waffles in bed. yum! Miles bought me an orchid plant, and a grill, both of which I am very excited about! After church we went over to Miles' parents' house and had a cook-out with his extended family. That was really fun to see people that we don't often get to see. And then after a quick nap at home it was off to another party, this time a graduation dinner party with friends. I didn't even have to cook or do dishes all day; no laundry or cleaning either, and in fact, now that I think about it, I only changed one diaper and I got to take a NAP! Man, this WAS a good day!
I love being this sweet girl's mama! Thank you for making me a mom, Halleigh. I have enjoyed and cherished every second. (Except maybe that one time when you were 3 weeks old and wouldn't sleep... just kidding).
I told Halleigh that she had to be nice to me all day, and she was except the time she slapped me on the face, we're going to have to work on that...
Hope ya'll had a restful, peaceful, relaxing and festive day!
