He is so cute! Excited about your new camera for you, make sure you pick up the 50mm 1.8 lens if you haven't already, it's literally the best $100 you will ever spend photography wise.
Kristen, I am so glad that you commented!
#1 so that we know that you are now able to comment and #2 I have been looking at that lens! I have a friend that has a Nikon and he has the prime lens and swears by it! But I was wondering what you thought about the difference between the 1.4 and the 1.8. Is there enough of a difference to make $200 difference?
I use the 1.4, but I used the 1.8 professionally even for a long time. I moved up more for the build quality (metal vs. plastic) and situations like dark churches with no-flash rules where the tiniest bit of aperture makes a huge difference, but I think you will be very happy with the 1.8. I sold mine used for literally $10 less than I paid for it, so if you ever want to move up, it's always in demand and isn't a bad "investment".
There's always a new lens to move up to, but I recommend the 50 1.8 and the Tamron 28-75 2.8 for general family use. They are great tools.
Thanks Kristen! I almost have Miles talked in to it! :)
