Election Night Par-tay

| | Comments (0)

For election night we thought it would be fun to have a red, white and blue dinner.  We had a few people over to eat and watch the results come in. Just after everyone had left, they called Obama the winner. But we did have a great time... Obama cookies and all.

The bowl full of blue mush, is not play-doh... it's mashed potatoes dyed blue.

The tension is mounting

sparkely obama.jpgI thought this day would never come. I am sure that the candidates got little sleep.

If you read this blog and you haven't voted... GO VOTE!

I am a ball of nerves, scared, excited, hopeful, fearful... I love election day!

O-Bam-A.... O-Bam-A... O-Bam-A

We are hosting an election night dinner, where all the food is red, white, and blue. If you are in the area and free, come on over. Or if not and you have ideas about red food that would go with blue mashed potatoes, let me know. ha ha ha

I voted.

We went over to Duke this afternoon and voted. It was pretty anti-climactic. I feel like voting on Election Day has a electric charge around it that early voting just doesn't have. Bummer.

Miles hadn't registered to vote yet, so we had to go early.  North Carolina will let you register and vote at the same time if you do early voting.

I, too, voted for Barack Obama. I voted for Dub-Ya last time, and after being slapped in the face for the last four years, enough is enough!

Bill Clinton

So my mom was here, after Ben's graduation, I know it was a long time ago, but I would remiss if I didn't post about this. Anyway, on May 6th I went to go vote in the democratic primaries at the North Carolina School of Science and Math.  When we got there there were a ton of people there waiting for something. They all had signs and were lined up along the driveway. Soon, though, we found out what they were waiting for as a motorcade pulled up and out jumped Bill Clinton. I know crazy huh?

Usually I would not be that excited about anything having to do with Hillary Clinton, but this was different. It was Presiden William Jefferson Clinton. It isn't often that you are a driveway away from the former leader of the free world. It was pretty cool, my mom even admitted that it was pretty neat. In the bottom picture Clinton is circled in red. Look my mom and Halleigh had their picture taken with a president! lol

Obama Rally

| | Comments (0)

Here are the long awaited pictures from the Obama rally that Miles and I went to.  We went with some of our friends from small group, and some of their friends.  Oh, and thanks to Chick-fil-a there were a few presidents that stopped by to endorse Obama: Johnson, Kennedy, Truman, Roosevelt, and Wilson. Thanks guys, glad you could make it. Especially Kennedy, who wanted his own picture with the "Change" sign.  Needless to say, we got a little bored waiting.  But the wait was totally worth it, we were glad we went!
